| El edificio Gesem sobrevive en una situación difícil. En un solar de orientación poniente y muy próximo a una rotonda de intensa circulación, la edificación se asienta retrasada para huir de ambas condiciones pero buscando en un gesto inequívoco la relación con las vistas lejanas y el espectáculo del trafico rodado. La edificación rompe sus formas para eludir la rígida geometría de la parcela y establecer a voluntad su diálogo con el entorno. A ras de suelo y bajo él, dos plantas buscan, mediante patios y aperturas protegidas, construir su propia relación con el exterior. Arriba, la planta primera gira con energía y busca a lo lejos las mejores vistas incorporándolas al paisaje interior. |
The Gesem building survives a difficult position, in a west-facing plot very close to a busy roundabout. The building is set back, retreating from both these circumstances but unmistakably seeking to relate to the distant views and the spectacle of the traffic. The form of the building is broken up to escape from the rigid shape of the plot and set up a dialogue at will with the surroundings. At ground level and below, two floors with protected courtyards and openings attempt to construct their own relationship with the exterior. Above, the first floor turns energetically and seeks the best views in the distance, incorporating them into the internal landscape. |
