El edificio propuesto para la rehabilitación y su transformación en Colegio Territorial de Arquitectos de Alicante se halla situado en la ciudad, entre la zona comercial y el mar dando fachada a una magnífica plaza con árboles centenarios. Es en este lugar donde encontraríamos las primeras sugerencias para iniciar la propuesta que acabarían por orientarla y dirigirla. Sugerencias como los múltiples matices de la luz mediterránea, las magníficas vistas de los árboles de la plaza y el mar, ese olor a vegetación y a salitre... ...Sugerencias que ahora se incorporarían al edificio. El proyecto plantea así la creación de un gran patio central que diese luz, que incorporase ese exterior al interior, que crease un nuevo paisaje abstracto e íntimo. Ese patio comunicaría todos los espacios del Colegio, desde el más representativo, directamente relacionado con la entrada principal y dispuesto en una sola planta para un uso flexible y versátil, al más privado en la cubierta. Este último recinto sale al exterior como pieza abstracta y serena, vinculada a los ritmos de la naturaleza y a la vez recuperando la simetría y composición de la fachada. Se orientan las vistas de las pequeñas aberturas para mirar hacia las magníficas copas de los árboles del parque. Y se crea una pequeña plaza íntima verde en cubierta, que acerque todavía más la naturaleza al interior. |
The
building to be refurbished and converted for the Territorial College of
Architects of Alicante stands in the city centre, between the main
shopping area and the sea, in a magnificent square with hundred-year-old
trees.
This place suggested the tentative ideas for the initial design that eventually took over and shaped it. Ideas such as the multiple nuances of the Mediterranean light, the magnificent view over the trees in the square and the sea, the smell of vegetation and brine... ...Ideas that would now become part of the building. The College will have a large central courtyard that brings in light, leads the exterior into the interior and creates a new, abstract, intimate landscape. The courtyard will join up all the spaces in the building, from the most public ones in direct contact with the main entrance, all on the same floor for the sake of flexibility and versatility, to the most private space, on the roof, rising into the exterior. This abstract, serene form is associated with the rhythms of nature but also echoes the symmetry and composition of the façade. The views from its small openings are positioned so that they look out over the magnificent canopies of the trees in the park. And a small, intimate green square is created on the roof, bringing nature still closer to the interior. |
