ACTAS 2005–2006 

ACTA DE ACUERDOS DEL JURADO PARA EL OTORGAMIENTO DE LOS PREMIOS DE ARQUITECTURA DEL COLEGIO OFICIAL DE ARQUITECTOS DE LA COMUNIDAD VALENCIANA (COACV), 2005-2006

Reunido en Valencia, durante los días 28 y 29 de mayo y  Alicante el 11 de junio de 2007 el Jurado de la XIV Edición de los “Premios de Arquitectura COACV 2005-2006”, compuesto por los siguientes miembros:

• JAVIER FRECHILLA CAMOIRAS, Arquitecto, por delegación del Decano del COACV, como Presidente del Jurado

•  ANTONIO GALLUD MARTÍNEZ, Arquitecto, premiado en ediciones anteriores

• JUAN JOSÉ ESTELLÉS CEBA, Arquitecto, Mestre Valencià d’Arquitectura

• FABIÁN LLISTERRI MONFORT, Arquitecto ex-Decano

• JESÚS APARICIO GUISADO, Arquitecto, representante del Colegio Territorial de Alicante por delegación de Carmen Rivera Gallego

• VICENTE LUIS GARCÍA GIL, Arquitecto, representante del Colegio Territorial de Castellón

• JORGE TORRES CUECO, Arquitecto, representante del Colegio Territorial de Valencia

• CELESTINO GARCÍA BRAÑA, Arquitecto de reconocido prestigio externo a la Comunidad Valenciana

• EVA CUESTA VIVES, Arquitecto, actuando como Secretaria del Jurado

Todos los miembros del Jurado han asistido a la totalidad de las reuniones a excepción de Celestino García Braña que excusó su asistencia el día 11 de junio por lo que no ha participado en las votaciones finales de los apartados A, B y C

Previo al fallo, el Jurado considera oportuno resaltar el alto nivel de participación en los diferentes apartados, con una alta calidad y corrección que han enriquecido, a la vez que dificultado, sus deliberaciones.

Una vez examinados todos los trabajos presentados, el Jurado procede a emitir su fallo.

A/ EDIFICACIÓN I

Se otorga PREMIO a:

70 VIVIENDAS DE PROTECCIÓN OFICIAL EN CASTELLÓN           

Autor: Carlos Meri Cucart

El Jurado ha valorado la aportación de este proyecto al tipo del bloque abierto,  destacando entre otros valores, la resolución plástica del arco de su trazado en una trama urbana habitual y compleja y el acierto en los testeros, disueltos en cuerpos edificatorios menores. También valora el sistema de accesos en plataforma conjunta.

A/ EDIFICACIÓN II

Se otorga PREMIO a:

EDIFICIO DE OFICINAS BENIGAR EN ALICANTE

Autor: Javier García-Solera Vera           

El Jurado quiere destacar el acierto al encontrar una solución adecuada y precisa para una localización urbana compleja, tanto en los materiales empleados, la pulcritud de las soluciones constructivas concretas, la traza del edificio -en especial la sección que relaciona el conjunto desde el aparcamiento hasta las oficinas- así como el acierto en el tamaño y la escala del edificio que consigue aliarse con lo mejor del territorio circundante.

Se otorga MENCIÓN a:

EDIFICIO DE OFICINAS INTERTRONIC EN PATERNA (VALENCIA)

Autores: Carmel Gradolí Martínez, Arturo Sanz Martínez           

El Jurado valora el espacio intermedio entre un entorno industrial y un interior de oficina, creando una zona abierta y ajardinada a través de una sugerente malla de metal-vegetal que tamiza tanto la luz como la visión.

Se otorga MENCIÓN a:

AMPLIACIÓN DE VIVIENDA UNIFAMILIAR EN MAIGMO, TIBI (ALICANTE)

Autora: Carla Sentieri           

El Jurado valora la precisión con la que se han dispuesto los cuerpos edificatorios para construir un lugar con una gran sobriedad de medios y una cuidada escala.

Se otorga MENCIÓN a:

REFORMA DE LOCAL PARA SEDE DE LA CAJA DE ARQUITECTOS DE ALICANTE

Autora: Lola Alonso Vera

El Jurado desea destacar esta obra de reforma, de interiorismo, cuidadosa y acertada en sus decisiones interiores y exteriores y ejemplar sobre los modos de actuar en la pequeña escala en la ciudad.

B/ URBANISMO Y PAISAJE

Se otorga MENCIÓN a:

PARADA DEL TRAM EN ALICANTE

Autores: Andrés Silanes Calonge, Fernando Valderrama Garre, Carlos Bañón Blázquez           

El Jurado reconoce la fuerza y singularidad  de la pieza que consigue poner en valor una glorieta anodina manejando exclusivamente un programa utiltario de primera necesidad.

C/ TRABAJOS DOCUMENTALES

El Jurado, en la modalidad de TRABAJOS DOCUMENTALES una vez estudiados en su conjunto los trabajos, dependiendo de la naturaleza, establece tres grupos: Trabajos Profesionales de diversa índole, Publicaciones y Libros, y Tesis Doctorales, y emiten, según los puntos 9 y 10 de las bases, fallo de los trabajos que obtienen PREMIO o MENCIÓN.

C/ TRABAJOS DOCUMENTALES. PUBLICACIONES

Se otorga MENCIÓN a:

PUBLICACIÓN. ARQUITECTURA DE TIERRA EN EL SUR DE MARRUECOS. EL OASIS DE SKOURA

El Jurado destaca el interés divulgativo de una investigación seguramente de muchos años.

C/ TRABAJOS DOCUMENTALES. TESIS

Se otorga PREMIO a:

TESIS. EL ESPACIO ÚNICO. CAJAS. ARTEFACTOS. PLATAFORMAS           

Autor: Alfredo Payá Benedito

El Jurado declina cualquier valoración académica de estos trabajos, ya realizada en los ámbitos universitarios y premia esta tesis por su interés al exponer las bases teóricas y reflexiones personales de un arquitecto consolidado como es su autor, confiando en que este premio ayude a que  se materialice en una publicación.

D/ PROYECTOS FIN DE CARRERA

Se otorga PREMIO a:

CENTRO DE DOCUMENTACIÓN ARQUITECTÓNICA

Autor: Sergio Bruns Banegap           

La continuidad que el material básico produce en el proyecto junto con el complejo y sugerente itinerario que se produce son las cualidades valoradas por el Jurado.

Se otorga PREMIO a:

CENTRO DE ACTIVIDADES CONTEMPORÁNEAS EN EL F.I.B.

Autor: Miguel Martínez Castillejo           

El proyecto ha interesado al Jurado por la sensible integración del proyecto con el territorio como evidencia  la sección del edificio.

Se otorga PREMIO a:

CENTRO DE ALTO RENDIMIENTO DEPORTIVO EN MANISES

Autor: Raúl Yago Domingo

El Jurado valora de este proyecto, en especial, la aspiración a un planteamiento realista en un trabajo final de carrera, la forma en que se toman en cuenta las consideraciones reales de un barranco, el rigor dimensional de la propuesta y la sencillez tecnológica con que se aborda produciendo finalmente una pieza claramente ordenada.

Se otorga PREMIO a:

AIIR MANZANA

Autor: Vicente Zaragoza Escolano           

Las nuevas propuesta de vida que hibridan los espacios públicos y las áreas urbanas parecen ser la base para este proyecto que confía plenamente en un futuro tecnológico de forma brillante y eficaz.

Se otorga MENCIÓN a:

ESCUELA DE HOSTELERÍA Y RESIDENCIA DE ESTUDIANTES

Autora: Noelia Baldayo Nebot           

El Jurado destaca la sobriedad geométrica y el rigor constructivo que ajustan este proyecto a una realidad urbana compleja.

Se otorga MENCIÓN a:

COLEGIO EXPERIMENTAL EN ALICANTE

Autora: Maribel Requena Barbellido           

El Jurado valora la intensidad con que se plantea el aula en si misma y su relación con los espacios exteriores. De igual modo resulta de interés para el Jurado el planteamiento tanto constructivo como la imagen del proyecto.

E/ Premio Especial a la Trayectoria Profesional

La Junta de Gobierno del Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de la Comunidad Valenciana, en su sesión de 31 de mayo de 2007, constituida como jurado especial para la adjudicación de los Premios de Arquitectura del COACV 2005-2006 en su epígrafe E) Trayectoria Profesional, adopta el siguiente acuerdo: Designar, por unanimidad, como «Mestre Valencià d’Arquitectura» a D. Fernando Martínez García-Ordóñez, por su dedicación y capacidad demostrada en una trayectoria de más de 50 años en el campo de la arquitectura.

F/ Premio Especial a la Aportación a la Arquitectura

La Junta de Gobierno del Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de la Comunidad Valenciana, en su sesión de 31 de mayo de 2007, constituida como jurado especial para la adjudicación de los Premios de Arquitectura del COACV 2005-2006 en su -epígrafe F), acuerda conceder el Premio especial a la Aportación a la Arquitectura al Ajuntament de Torrent, por su positiva valoración y adecuada promoción de su patrimonio edificado, mediante el establecimiento de los premios de arquitectura “Ciutat de Torrent” que, con carácter bienal viene otorgando desde el año 2002.

RECORD OF THE DECISIONS OF THE JURY AWARDING THE ARCHITECTURE PRIZES OF THE OFFICIAL COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTS OF THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY (COACV) 2005-2006

The Jury of the 14th COACV Architecture Prizes, 2005-2006, which met on 28 and 29 May 2007 in Valencia and 11 June 2007 in Alicante, was composed of the following members:

• JAVIER FRECHILLA CAMOIRAS, Architect, delegated by the Dean of the COACV to be Chairman of the Jury

• ANTONIO GALLUD MARTÍNEZ, Architect, COACV prize winner in previous years

• JUAN JOSÉ ESTELLÉS CEBA, Architect, Mestre Valencià d’Arquitectura

• FABIÁN LLISTERRI MONFORT, Architect and former Dean

• JESÚS APARICIO GUISADO, Architect, delegated by Carmen Rivera Gallego to represent the Alicante College of Architects

• VICENTE LUIS GARCÍA GIL, Architect, representing the Castellón College of Architects

• JORGE TORRES CUECO, Architect, representing the Valencia College of Architects

• CELESTINO GARCÍA BRAÑA, Architect of recognized prestige from outside the Valencian Community

• EVA CUESTA VIVES, Architect, as Secretary of the Jury.

All the members of the Jury attended every meeting with the exception of Celestino García Braña, who was unable to attend the meeting on 11 June and consequently did not take part in the final voting on sections A, B and C.

Prior to its decisions, the Jury wishes to highlight the large number of entries submitted in the different sections; their high quality and correctness have both enriched and complicated its deliberations.

Having examined all the entries, the jury hereby announces its decisions.

A/ CONSTRUCTION I

A PRIZE is awarded to:

70 SUBSIDISED HOUSING UNITS IN CASTELLÓN           

Architect: Carlos Meri Cucart

The jury has considered the contribution that this project makes to the open block type, highlighting among other merits the plasticity of its curve in a habitual, complex urban grid and the skilful handling of the ends, which dissolve into smaller volumes of building. It also values the joint platform access system.

A/ CONSTRUCTION II

A PRIZE is awarded to:

BENIGAR OFFICE BLOCK IN ALICANTE

Architect: Javier García-Solera Vera           

The Jury wishes to highlight the success in encountering a precise, appropriate solution for a complex urban location in terms of not only the materials employed, the pulchritude and of specific construction solutions and the layout of the building (particularly the section that relates to the whole from the car park to the offices), but also the flawless size and scale of the building, which manages to ally itself with the best of its surroundings.

An honourable MENTION is awarded to:

INTERTRONIC OFFICE BUILDING IN PATERNA (PROVINCE OF VALENCIA)

Architects: Carmel Gradolí Martínez, Arturo Sanz Martínez.

The jury values the intermediate space between an industrial environment and an office interior, creating an open, landscaped space through an intriguing metal/plant mesh that filters both the light and the views.

An honourable MENTION is awarded to:

EXTENSION TO FAMILY HOME IN MAIGMO (TIBI, PROVINCE OF ALICANTE)

Architect: Carla Sentieri           

The Jury values the precision in the way the blocks have been arranged to construct a place with great simplicity of means and care over the scale.

An honourable MENTION is awarded to:

REFURBISHMENT OF PREMISES FOR THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE CAJA DE ARQUITECTOS IN ALICANTE

Architect: Lola Alonso Vera

The jury would like to draw attention to this refurbishment and interior design work: its interior and exterior decisions are scrupulous and successful and it constitutes an example of how to act on a small scale in a city.

B/ URBAN DESIGN AND LANDSCAPING

An honourable MENTION is awarded to:

TRAM STOP IN ALICANTE

Architects: Andrés Silanes Calonge, Fernando Valderrama Garre, Carlos Bañón Blázquez           

The Jury recognizes the strength and uniqueness of this piece, which succeeds in upgrading an anodyne roundabout exclusively through its handling of a utilitarian basic-need brief.

C/ DOCUMENTARY WORKS

In the DOCUMENTARY WORKS section, the Jury has studied all the works together and divided them into three groups, depending on the nature of the work: Professional Works of different types, Publications and Books, and PhD Theses. In accordance with rules 9 and 10 for these prizes, the jury hereby delivers its decision on the works that are awarded a PRIZE or an honourable MENTION:

C/ DOCUMENTARY WORKS. PUBLICATIONS

An honourable MENTION is awarded to:

PUBLICATION. EARTH ARCHITECTURE IN THE SOUTH OF MOROCCO. THE SKOURA OASIS

The Jury highlights the documentary interest of this research, almost certainly the work of many years.

C/ DOCUMENTARY WORKS.  THESES

A PRIZE is awarded to:

THESIS. THE SINGLE SPACE. BOXES. ARTEFACTS. PLATFORMS           

Author: Alfredo Payá Benedito

The Jury declines to enter into any academic assessment of these works, which has already been conducted at the University, awards the prize to this thesis for its interest, as it sets out the theoretical foundations and personal reflections of an established architect such as its author, and trusts that this prize will help it to achieve publication.

D/ DEGREE COURSE FINAL PROJECTS

A PRIZE is awarded to:

ARCHITECTURE DOCUMENTATION CENTRE

Author: Sergio Bruns Banegap           

The qualities valued by the Jury are the continuity that the basic material gives to the project, together with the complex and intriguing itinerary that is created.

A PRIZE is awarded to:

CONTEMPORARY ACTIVITIES CENTRE AT THE FIB

Author: Miguel Martínez Castillejo           

This project interested the Jury because of its sensitive integration into the land, as shown by the section.

A PRIZE is awarded to:

HIGH PERFORMANCE SPORTS CENTRE IN MANISES

Author: Raúl Yago Domingo

What the Jury especially values in this work is the aspiration to adopt a realistic approach in a final year project, the way in which it takes the real considerations of a gully into account, the dimensional rigour of the proposal and the technological simplicity with which it is tackled, finally producing a clearly-ordered piece.

A PRIZE is awarded to:

AIIR BLOCK

Author: Vicente Zaragoza Escolano           

The new way-of-life proposals that hybridise public spaces and urban areas seem to be the basis for this project, which shows total faith in a technological future in a brilliant and effective way.

An honourable MENTION is awarded to:

HOTEL SCHOOL AND STUDENT RESIDENCE.

Author: Noelia Baldayo Nebot           

The Jury highlights the geometrical sobriety and constructive rigour that fit this project into a complex urban reality.

An honourable MENTION is awarded to:

EXPERIMENTAL SCHOOL IN ALICANTE

Author: Maribel Requena Barbellido           

The jury values the intensity of the approach to the classroom itself and its relationship with the exterior spaces. The Jury also finds both the construction approach and the image of the project interesting.

E/ Special Prize for a Professional Career

The Board of Directors of the Official College of Architects of the Valencian Community, at its meeting on 31 May 2007, formed a special jury to award the 2005-2006 COACV architecture prize for section E) Professional Career and resolved as follows: Unanimously to designate Fernando Martínez García-Ordóñez as ‘Mestre Valencià d’Arquitectura’ for the dedication and ability he has shown during a career spanning over 50 years in the field of architecture.

F/ Special Prize for Contribution to Architecture

The Board of Directors of the Official College of Architects of the Valencian Community, at its meeting on 31 May 2007, formed a special jury to award the 2005-2006 COACV architecture prize for section F) and resolved to award the Special Prize for Contribution to Architecture to the Town Council of Torrent for the positive view and appropriate promotion of its built heritage shown by its creation of the ‘Ciutat de Torrent’ architecture prizes, which it has been awarding biennially since the year 2002.
